Lighting up Christmas

After a two-year hiatus, the yearly tradition of gathering to light up  the Christmas tree at Kent Ridge Guild House (KRGH) was finally back on track! On 4 December, the lobby of KRGH was abuzz with excitement as NUSS members and their families gathered to take in the beautiful festive decorations and fully decked out Christmas tree, as well as to participate in fun activities.

The NUSS Choir added to the festive spirit with an enchanting medley of Christmas carols, while the kids had a ball of a time participating in stage games and a best-dressed contest in which the young participants stood to win a variety of prizes. In the spirit of giving, families were also encouraged to participate in NUSS’ annual Adopt-A-Wish project (in collaboration with The Boys’ Brigade Singapore) by picking a ‘wish’ to fulfil off the adorned Christmas tree. By adopting a wish, the participants had a chance to bring a little joy to beneficiaries under the Ramakrishhna Mission Boys’ Home, Singapore Association for Mental Health Youth Reach or MINDS by giving them a gift this Christmas.

Later that evening, Management Committee members were invited on stage to do the honours of lighting up the stunning 18-ft Christmas tree. To top it all off was a visit from Santa Claus, in which many excited families seized the chance to get a photo opportunity with him by the dazzling Christmas tree.
