NUSS Overseas Trip to Guilin, China

From 14 to 20 May 2025, a group of NUSS members and their guests, consisting of 70 golfers and 25 non-golfers embarked on a 7D6N overseas trip to Guilin, China.

Upon arrival, everyone was treated to a welcome dinner before checking into the hotel and resting for the night. The next morning, the golfers got down to business at the Guilin Merryland Golf Resort where past NUSS Presidents Mr Lai Kim Seng, Mr David Ho, Mr Eddie Lee, Mr Johnny Tan, and former Golf Convenor Mr Joseph Ng did an opening ceremonial tee off. Over two days, the group played through all four 9-hole courses (A, B, C & D), enjoying both social and competitive games.

For the non-golfers, they visited numerous spots such as the Lujia Village, Jing Jiang Prince’s Palace, Xiaoyao Tower, and the Elephant Trunk Hill, Guilin’s iconic landmark.

On Day 3, golfers squeezed in one final morning round before heading to Yangshuo, a town famed for its karst mountains and river views. Meanwhile, the non-golfers visited the Liu Sanjie Grand View Garden and the Dongli Ancient Village for a cultural heritage experience.

The next day, the group visited Ruyi Peak and sat on a cable car ride with scenic views. Afterwards, it was bamboo rafting time on the Yulong River and sightseeing visits to the Big Banyan Tree and the Moon Mountain.

Members also visited the Li River and Julongtan Cave before heading to an immersive stage show Eternal Love, a colourful showcase of Guilin’s history through music, dance, and lights.

The final golf round was held at the Guilin Twin Peak Golf Club — a course known for its scenic mountain backdrop while the non-golfers enjoyed a tranquil morning visit to Shangri-La Park.
