NUSS Golf Team at AUA Games 2025 – Bangkok

The NUSS Golf team made its way to Bangkok, Thailand, to compete in the 11th ASEAN Universities Alumni (AUA) Games in September 2025. This annual event brought together alumni golfers from Persatuan Alumni Universiti Malaya (PAUM), Ikatan Alumni UI (ILUNI-UI) / Persatuan Golf Alumni Universitas Indonesia (PERGOLA-UI), Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association Golf Club (CUAA), and National University of Singapore Society (NUSS), fostering friendships and regional camaraderie through golf.

Comprising 34 golfers, Team NUSS arrived on 28 September and was warmly received by CUAA officials at Suvarnabhumi Airport. With the tournament venues nearby, the team settled in quickly for two exciting days of competition.

Day 1 — Social Golf at Bangkok Golf Club

The tournament began with a four-ball best ball (net score) social game. Teams were mixed across universities to encourage networking and fellowship, with balanced handicaps ensuring fair play.

Special prizes were awarded for team rankings (#1, 2, 3, 11, 22, 33) and included a light-hearted “boobie” prize, keeping the atmosphere fun and friendly.

Day 2 — Competitive Round at Riverdale Golf Club

Day 2 featured the competition round, played under 75% Stableford points. Novelty prizes included Nearest to the Pin, Longest Drive, and Hole-in-One on all par‑3s.

Awards were given for:

  • Top 3 golfers from each alumni team
  • Top 3 ladies
  • Overall Top 3 performers

At the prize presentation luncheon, NUSS Vice President II Mr Nakoorsha Abdul Kadir delivered a brief yet meaningful address:

“Golf is like life—you rarely get a hole in one, but at least you’ve got friends there to laugh with you when you miss… usually after they’ve laughed at you first.”

He reinforced the spirit of unity, friendship, and continued collaboration among ASEAN alumni.
