On 15 September 2023, hearts were warmed and smiles were shared as 20 volunteers took 20 children, beneficiaries of the Children’s Wishing Well charity, on an unforgettable grocery shopping adventure to NTUC FairPrice and Sheng Siong. Organised by the National University of Singapore Society’s (NUSS) Community Care Sub-Committee, this heartwarming event offered a unique chance for the volunteers to connect with these young beneficiaries on a personal level, fostering bonds that extended far beyond the aisles of the stores.
The day was filled with touching moments as the volunteers not only guided the children through the aisles but also assisted them in making thoughtful purchases, emphasising the importance of responsible shopping. Laughter echoed through the stores, and the volunteers’ dedication to making this outing memorable was evident in the beaming smiles on the children’s faces. It was a testament to the power of community and compassion, where the simple act of grocery shopping became a joyful adventure that touched the hearts of all involved.
